“Hello, my name is Zoe Gould and I work in the Baby Unit here at South Hills School! In July I am planning a trip to Peru through a company called P.O.D. (Personal Overseas Development). I intend to go for 6 weeks starting on 26th July 2009. There, I will be helping to look after orphans, working in schools teaching basic English and working with teenagers within a safe house, whilst also gaining an amazing experience of South America.
Here is where you, as parents or friends of the school, come in!! I have researched and put together a Treasure Trail for the children to take part in on 22nd April 2009. This will be a fun experience for the children and also teach them about typical animals in Peru. This will be a fun-packed Peruvian day including Peruvian music, games and cooking!
Sponsorship forms will be sent home with your children to sponsor them to do the treasure trail. We would like to raise as much money as we can to make it possible for me to be able to help these less fortunate children. So anything that you can do to help, whether it is advice or financial assistance, will be very gratefully received.
When in Peru I also intend to keep a blog of what I’m getting up to – this will be available on the website for you and the school to keep track of my trip.
Thank you for you time and support and please let me know if you have any ideas or advice that may help me.”
Zoe Gould, Squirrel Nutkin Room leader, Baby Unit.
